Community Engagement DSP

Loudoun County, Virginia | Monday–Friday | Day Shift


Help cultivate independence


Camellia Living is a Medicaid DD Waiver provider supporting adults with developmental disabilities throughout Northern Virginia.

As a Community Engagement Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll work one-on-one or with very small groups to help participants enjoy meaningful community experiences. Activities may include volunteering, museums, recreation, wellness, skill-building outings, and other opportunities connected to each person’s Individual Support Plan.

This position is ideal for someone who is patient, creative, dependable, and genuinely excited about helping others build the life they want.

  • Starting pay: $19.00 per hour
  • After completing training: $20.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • No weekends, evenings, or overnight shifts
  • W-2 employment
  • Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate


What you’ll do

  • Guide and support participants during purposeful community activities
  • Promote choice, dignity, independence, and meaningful inclusion
  • Provide transportation using a company vehicle or your own vehicle
  • Complete daily documentation in Therap
  • Communicate clearly with participants, families, Support Coordinators, and the Camellia Living team
  • Follow each participant’s Individual Support Plan and safety requirements
  • Assist with mobility and other support needs when necessary


Position requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Be willing and able to transport participants in a personal or company vehicle
  • Be comfortable driving and working throughout the community
  • Be able to commute reliably throughout Loudoun County, Virginia
  • Be available Monday–Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Have strong written communication skills
  • Be able to complete accurate electronic documentation
  • Be able to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Be able to assist participants with mobility when needed
  • Be willing and able to complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check through Virginia State Police and DBHDS
  • Demonstrate reliability, patience, warmth, and genuine respect for adults with developmental disabilities

Previous DSP, CNA, caregiving, teaching, or human-services experience is preferred but not required.

  • CPR and First Aid
  • Person-Centered Thinking
  • HIPAA
  • Therap documentation
  • Participant-specific support and safety training
